GP2GP is an electronic facility that enables a patient’s electronic health record to be transferred safely and directly between practices when a patient changes practice. It is an NHS England requirement that all practices use the GP2GP facility as soon as possible after 1 April 2014 or have published plans in place to achieve this by 31 March 2015.
The Tasburgh Lodge Surgery already uses GP2GP. This means that, as long as your previous surgery also uses GP2GP, your electronic medical records will be automatically up loaded on to our clinical system. This helps improve patient care as it means that your new GP will usually have access to a full and detailed medical record from the date you register with our practice. Similarly, if you register with another GP practice that uses GP2GP, your medical record will be transferred electronically to your new GP. Your paper medical record will continue to be sent to your new GP.
